رئيس جامعة المنصورة الجديدة مقررًا للدورة السابعة والخمسين لاتحاد الجامعات العربية المنعقدة في رحاب الجامعة الدولية بالكويت
استضافت الجامعة الدولية بدولة الكويت الدورة السابعة والخمسين للمؤتمر العام لاتحاد الجامعات العربية، بمشاركة نخبة من قيادات التعليم العالي في العالم العربي، وحضور معالي الأستاذ الدكتور محمد أيمن عاشور، وزير التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي بجمهورية مصر العربية، ومعالي الأستاذ الدكتور عمرو عزت سلامة، الأمين العام لاتحاد الجامعات العربية.
بدأت فعاليات المؤتمر بجلسة افتتاحية ترحيبية، ألقى فيها معالي الدكتور بركات الهديبات، رئيس مجلس أمناء الجامعة الدولية بالكويت، كلمة رحب فيها بالحضور، وأكد أهمية هذا التجمع الأكاديمي العربي لتعزيز التعاون المشترك.
كما ألقى معالي الدكتور محمد أيمن عاشور كلمة تناول فيها أهمية دعم التعليم العالي العربي، مشيرًا إلى ضرورة التكامل بين الجامعات العربية لتلبية متطلبات التنمية. وشهدت الجلسة كلمات مؤثرة أخرى من قادة التعليم العالي العربي.
ناقش المؤتمر عددًا من القضايا الرئيسية والمحورية، من بينها دعم الجامعات الفلسطينية من خلال التأكيد على الالتزام بتقديم الدعم الأكاديمي والمالي، واستعراض دور بنك المعرفة المصري في تعزيز التعليم والبحث العلمي، ومناقشة خطط لتحسين مراكز الجامعات العربية في التصنيفات العالمية. كما تم التطرق إلى مبادرة “منطقة التعليم العربية” التي اقترحها وزير التعليم العالي العراقي في الدورة السابقة، حيث نوقشت ليتم طرحها على القمة العربية القادمة.
كما تضمنت الجلسات استعراض التقارير المالية، ومراجعة أداء اللجان المالية للاتحاد، ومناقشة تطوير برامج مشتركة لدعم البحث العلمي والابتكار.
تمت الجلسة الإجرائية بتسمية رئيس الدورة الحالية ونائبيه، إلى جانب اختيار الأستاذ الدكتور معوض الخولي، رئيس جامعة المنصورة الجديدة، مقررًا عامًا للمؤتمر للمرة الثانية، مما يعكس حضورًا مميزًا لجامعة المنصورة الجديدة، وثقة قادة التعليم العالي العربي في قيادته لهذا الدور الهام.
شهد المؤتمر مشاركة فعالة من الوفد المصري، ومن أبرز الحاضرين معالي الأستاذ الدكتور محمد أيمن عاشور،
والأستاذ الدكتور عادل العدوي، رئيس مجلس أمناء جامعة الجلالة الأهلية،
والأستاذ الدكتور أشرف الشيحي، وزير التعليم العالي الأسبق ورئيس جامعة بدر،
والأستاذة الدكتورة جينا الفقي، القائم بأعمال رئيس أكاديمية البحث العلمي والتكنولوجيا،
وممثلون عن بنك المعرفة المصري.
كما شارك عدد كبير من رؤساء الجامعات المصرية، من بينهم: الأستاذ الدكتور شريف خاطر، رئيس جامعة المنصورة، الأستاذ الدكتور منصور حسن، رئيس جامعة بني سويف، الأستاذ الدكتور عبدالرزاق دسوقي، رئيس جامعة كفر الشيخ، الأستاذ الدكتور عصام فرحات، رئيس جامعة المنيا، الأستاذ الدكتور أحمد فرج القاصد، رئيس جامعة المنوفية، الأستاذ الدكتور شريف صالح، رئيس جامعة بورسعيد، الأستاذ الدكتور ناصر مندور، رئيس جامعة قناة السويس، الأستاذ الدكتور هشام عبدالسلام، رئيس الجامعة المصرية للتعلم الإلكتروني، الأستاذ الدكتور شريف فخري، رئيس الجامعة المصرية الروسية، الأستاذ الدكتور أشرف حنيجل، رئيس جامعة السويس، والأستاذ الدكتور حمدان ربيع، رئيس جامعة دمياط، والأستاذ الدكتور محمود صديق، نائب رئيس جامعة الأزهر والاستاذ الدكتور محمود عبد العاطي رئيس معامل التاثير العربي ونائب رئيس الجامعة الاهلية والاستاذ بجامعة سوهاج.
اختتم المؤتمر أعماله بتوصيات أكدت على تعزيز التعاون لدعم التعليم العالي في العالم العربي، ودعم الجامعات الفلسطينية، وتحسين التصنيف الأكاديمي للجامعات العربية عالميًا، بالإضافة إلى تعزيز البحث العلمي عبر التعاون المشترك.
أعرب المشاركون عن تقديرهم للجامعة الدولية بدولة الكويت على استضافتها المميزة وحسن التنظيم، معبرين عن امتنانهم لشعب الكويت على حسن الاستقبال والضيافة.
The 57th Session of the Association of Arab Universities Held at the International University in Kuwait
The International University in the State of Kuwait hosted the 57th session of the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities, with the participation of a distinguished group of higher education leaders from across the Arab world. The event was attended by H.E. Professor Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and H.E. Professor Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities.
The conference began with an opening session, during which H.E. Dr. Barakat Al-Hadibat, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International University in Kuwait, delivered a welcoming speech emphasizing the importance of this Arab academic gathering in enhancing joint cooperation.
H.E. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour also delivered a speech highlighting the importance of supporting Arab higher education, stressing the need for integration among Arab universities to meet development requirements. The session also featured impactful speeches by other leaders in Arab higher education.
The conference addressed several key and central issues, including supporting Palestinian universities by reaffirming the commitment to providing academic and financial support, showcasing the role of the Egyptian Knowledge Bank in advancing education and scientific research, and discussing plans to improve the global rankings of Arab universities. The initiative of the “Arab Education Zone,” proposed by the Iraqi Minister of Higher Education during the previous session, was also discussed, with the aim of presenting it at the upcoming Arab Summit.
The sessions also included a review of financial reports, the performance of the Union’s financial committees, and discussions on developing joint programs to support scientific research and innovation.
During the procedural session, the current session’s president and deputies were appointed, and Professor Dr. Maawad El-Khouly, President of New Mansoura University, was chosen once again as the General Rapporteur of the conference — reflecting the outstanding presence of New Mansoura University and the confidence of Arab higher education leaders in his leadership of this vital role.
The conference saw active participation from the Egyptian delegation, notably including H.E. Professor Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour;
Professor Dr. Adel El-Adawy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Galala University;
Professor Dr. Ashraf El-Sheihy, former Minister of Higher Education and President of Badr University;
Professor Dr. Gina El-Feki, Acting President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology;
and representatives of the Egyptian Knowledge Bank.

The conference concluded with recommendations emphasizing the importance of strengthening cooperation to support higher education in the Arab world, supporting Palestinian universities, improving the global academic ranking of Arab universities, and promoting scientific research through joint collaboration.
Participants expressed their appreciation to the International University in Kuwait for its excellent hosting and organization, and extended their gratitude to the people of Kuwait for their warm reception and hospitality.
