Closing of the activities of the Holy Quran Competition at New Mansoura University

(The best of you are those who learn and teach the Qur’an), conclusion of the activities of the Holy Qur’an Competition at New Mansoura University

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Moawad Al-Kholy - President of the University, the activities of the Holy Quran Memorization Competition at New Mansoura University, for the month of Ramadan 1445 AH, were concluded. The competition was held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

(67) male and female students from various faculties of New Mansoura University participated in the competition, and the number of participants in the first level reached (36) male and female students in memorizing and reciting the entire Holy Qur’an, and in the second level (9) male and female students participated in memorizing and recitation. Twenty parts of the Holy Qur’an (from Surat Al-Tawbah to Surat Al-Nas), and in the third level, a number of (22) male and female students participated in memorizing and reciting ten parts of the Holy Qur’an (from Surat Al-Ankabut to Surat Al-Nas).

His Excellency the President of the University stated that a jury was formed from specialized professors and representatives from the Ministry of Endowments, and the committee examined all the competitors’ works and presented the results of the examination according to the order of grades awarded by the committee, where grades were collected and averages were taken after reviewing and examining them from the precise technical perspective in the science of readings and reading. Jury committee: Prof. Dr. Abdullah Shabana - Professor of Linguistics and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education, Mansoura University. The competition was organized by youth welfare officials at the university.

Dr. Moawad Al-Kholy, President of the University, explained that the university is not only a place for learning, but rather for building the integrated personality of students, and that the competition comes within the framework of educating students, developing religious awareness, and educating students about the importance of memorizing the Holy Qur’an, as New Mansoura University is interested in cultural and religious activities, which contribute to discovering talents and opening... Creative paths, and consolidating religious, social and spiritual values and beliefs in the hearts of students.

Dr. Abdullah Shabana also reported that the competition was at several different levels, including: memorizing the entire Holy Qur’an and reciting it, memorizing two-thirds of the Qur’an with reciting it, and memorizing one-third of the Qur’an and reciting it.

Al-Kholy indicated that the results of the competition will be announced and the winners will be honored on Sunday, Ramadan 14, 1445 - March 24, 2024.
