Nanomedicine and smart nanosystems, a scientific symposium in New Mansoura Sciences
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Moawad Mohamed El-Khouly, President of New Mansoura University, and the leadership of Prof. Dr. Samir Saqr, Dean of the Faculty of Science, New Mansoura University, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sorour, Director of Programs at the College of Science, the College of Science organized a symposium entitled “Nanomedicine and Smart Nanosystems: Promising Hopes.” For various advanced medical applications
(From the laboratory to the community)
The symposium was attended by Prof. Dr. Ibrahim El-Sherbiny, professor of nanotechnology, founding head of the Nanoscience Department and Programs, former director of the Materials Science Program, and founding director of the Materials Science Research Center. He is one of the first generation of founders of Zewail City of Science and Technology, former vice-chairman of the National Committee for New and Advanced Materials Sciences, and a member of the Council for Education and Scientific Research Policies. He is a member of the National Nanotechnology Network, a member of the National Committee for Drug Research and Development, a representative of Egypt, and Vice President of the SEP Program of the Board of Directors of the Network of African Academies of Science (NASAC).
Dr. El-Sherbiny reviewed an introduction to nanotechnology and the extent of the amazing transformation in the use of matter and the ability to form it using modern scientific methods and maximize the benefit from it in various ways.
The lecturer then touched on applications in various medical and pharmaceutical fields, through the preparation of smart nanosystems that can maximize the benefit from the entire amount of medicine by loading medicines into those systems. On the other hand, the applications of these systems extended to the agricultural sector.
Students from various sectors were keen to attend because of Professor Dr. Ibrahim El-Sherbiny’s research career full of distinguished scientific articles, multiple international patents, and valuable scientific awards.
